Sarah Klinetob Lowe Named Housing Systems Specialist

Date: 7/1/2017

After a thorough review process, we are very pleased that Sarah Klinetob Lowe has been named our new Housing Systems Specialist, effective July 1, 2017. Over the past three years, Sarah has been PHRC’s Budgets and Publications Coordinator. However, given her technical expertise briefly explained below, we are very pleased she decided to take on more technical responsibilities.

Sarah comes with ten years of broad work and research experiences within the residential construction industry, with technical focuses in residential energy retrofits and solar photovoltaic systems. After graduating with a B.S. in Engineering Science and a B.S. in German in 2007 from Penn State, and an M.S. in Architectural Engineering in 2009 from Penn State, Sarah worked as an Energy Engineer conducting energy audits, writing energy management plans, and completing construction administration for multifamily and attached housing complexes across the state. She also completed one year of a Masters of Architecture program at Penn State where she conducted research on residential solar photovoltaic system design and energy monitoring and feedback protocols for affordable housing. She also was the primary program developer and educator for the Renewable Energies for Central America (RECA) program that engaged Penn State students to spend their spring break installing solar photovoltaic systems on community facilities in Roatán, Honduras. In her current role at the PHRC she helps advise the DOE Race to Zero competition team and is the Conference Secretariat for the Residential Building Design & Construction Conference. She is currently serving an appointed three-year term on the Property Maintenance Board of the Centre Region Building and Housing Code Board of Appeals, following an elected four-year volunteer term on the State College Borough Council where she served on the Public Safety and Public Services & Environmental Committees for the State College Metropolitan area.

Please join PHRC in welcoming Sarah to her new role as the PHRC Housing Systems Specialist!
