Until recently, residential buildings have lagged the green certification market because in residential architecture, the margins are small, and the returns are not always sufficient to support certain green practices. The National Green Building Standard (NGBS) is the first green building standard approved by ANSI and offers a flexible, credible, and affordable rating system for builders and developers. The Standard establishes practices for the design and construction of green residential buildings, renovations, and land developments. Come learn about the Standard’s requirements, understand how the certification process works, and hear how to successfully market a green home.
