PHRC Workshop

PCCA Workshop - All About Attic & Ceiling Insulation: Cathedral Ceiling Assemblies & Bonus Rooms

Insulating cathedral ceiling assemblies and bonus rooms are some of the trickiest places to insulate. In this session we will look at cathedral ceiling assemblies or ceilings without attics and rooms located above a garage, often referred to as a bonus rooms and how they have been a source for difficult air sealing and thermal control details. Now more than ever with the increased need for energy efficiency and tighter tolerance for moisture and air infiltration, the dedicated design for these assemblies cannot be overlooked. In this session, you will learn about prescriptive designs for ceilings without attic spaces along with bonus rooms and break down some of the critical details that may help achieve an energy-efficient assembly.
